In heavy-duty applications, a gear ring is a high-strength annular gear component specifically engineered
to withstand substantial loads. Typically featuring thick-walled construction and high-strength materials,
it is extensively employed in heavy-duty transmission systems.
Key features include substantial ring wall thickness and high material strength (predominantly alloy steel),
with tooth surfaces undergoing strengthening treatments such as carburising and quenching.

Manufactured from high-strength alloy steels like 20CrNiMo or 42CrMo, enhanced through forging
and tempering processes to boost overall strength. Gear surfaces achieve 58-62 HRC hardness post-carburising
and quenching. During operation, they mesh with high-torque pinions to stably transmit torque under heavy-duty conditions.
The thick-walled structure effectively distributes stress across the tooth surface, preventing root fractures or excessive tooth wear.
Commonly employed in heavy-duty equipment, including excavator slewing rings in construction machinery,
luffing gear rings in cranes, transmission rings in mining crushers, and reduction gear rings in marine propulsion systems.
